Performative investigation at Cors Bodeilio peat fen with makeshift weighlift of limestone and upcycled aluminium.

A series of drone images depicts a performative investigation at Cors Bodeilio Nature Reserve, one of the peat fens of Anglesey. The body is pressed down into the peat by a makeshift weightlift of limestone from Moelfre, Anglesey and upcycled aluminium. The rocks have been extracted from the very same limestone bedrock that runs beneath the fens, that which creates a distinct calcareous, alkaline habitat.

The work was created as part of a larger research project into the materiality of peatlands, titled Sticky Sculptures.

The photographs and supporting material is currently shown as part of Wetland Dreams at Oriel Brondanw, an exhibition supported by Arts Council Wales and Natural Resources Wales.
